ToyBox Delivers

After 3 hours sleep from the Mardi Gras After Party it was time to get ready for the next one.

ToyBox has over the past few years been the best dance party that I have ever experienced. Having waited 1 year with the problems of last years party and the disappointment of the cancellation of the Luminere Party six months ago we were uncertain what to expect.

Congratulations to the ToyBox team you delivered an incredible party with amazing music fantastic laser light shows and a finale seen below that was breathtaking.

The finale shown above featured a drag queen raised into the air, her dress then opened and spread out covering the entire dance floor, once released it flowed over the party goers disappearing as confetti bombs exploded above covering everyone with colored paper.

We are sold on ToyBox parties, we love them, and can only look forward to the next one!

Toybox Co-Founder Passes Away

Same Same today announced that Brett Bush, co-founder of Sydney’s Toybox and Luminere parties, has passed away. As one of the most innovative and successful event organisers in Australia he bought joy to thousands of people. His absence will be felt deeply throughout the community.

Brett and his partner Andy started the famous Toybox parties back in 2004 at The Metro on George Street and they grew to become one of the most impressive and sophisticated events seen in the Australian gay scene.

While the circumstances surrounding this tragedy have not yet surfaced, those close to Brett have asked for privacy and respect at this time.

Our thoughts are with all of Brett’s family and friends.

Rumours surfaced a month ago that Brett was very ill, and that was the reason Luminere was cancelled.

I would like to thank both Brett and Andy for bringing so much joy and fun back to the dance party scene. The toybox parties that I attended were the best!!

I am certain I speak for the community when I say that I hope Andy will continue the journey that both he and Brett started and bring the fun back to parties.

The next Toybox is scheduled for Sunday March 2nd 2008.

To bring back some of the memories click on my Toy Box video's in the right hand column.

Luminere to Return

To all those who are experiencing that "I need a party" feeling in Sydney you may be happy to hear this rumour.

Luminere produced by the Toy Box boys will be back very soon, after a wait of over three months with no news I can tell you that it will return at Luna Park, my source tells me that their will only be 3,000 tickets available as it will only be held in the big top.

The exact date is not know however I am guessing it may follow the sleaze ball in septemper, and it is certain to be a huge show as after the last one during mardi gras they would have to win back fans.

Stay tuned for updates..

ToyBox at Luna Park

After the Mardi Gras Party we went to ToyBox at Luna Park. It was being promoted as the best Toy Box ever as the whole venue was ours, all the rides included but unfortunately too many tickets were sold and there were long lines to get into the main venue in scorching heat.
We had an interesting time to say the least, I learnt alot and overall had a great time, however a message to the organisers .... Please go back to the Metro and Horden Pavillion they were the best locations.

If you went, did you see the beach ball, it was mine and ended up on the lighting rig.

A special thanks to all who helped us during the party, you know who you are, a special thanks to Bruce, Leonard, David, Alan and Khoa for your assistance I love you all so much.

Until the next one stay silly.

Toybox delivers the best party ever.....

Thats me in the centre with the hottest boys in town, my boy is on the far right, cute isn't he..

At midday on January the 1st over 5,000 party boy's and a few girls came together for Toybox at Fox Studio's in Sydney for an 8 hour dance party.

Having spoken to one of the organisers the week prior he admitted that it was the biggest party and most challenging thus far.

I must admit I was sceptical whether the toybox team could turn this huge venue into an incredible experience, as previuos parties at this venue have had lighting and sound issues.

However when my boyfriend and I walked in I said, "Wow, they've pulled it off ,"The dancefloor was in the centre with four raised levels, four huge banks of speakers a massive revolving lighting rig and four awsome lasers controled by six computers that could probably launch a shuttle and a huge centre piece with mirror dishes and cubes.

Within the first hour there must have been four loud bangs followed by a "ooooooooouuuuuuu" from the party goers, it was the sound of speakers blowing. The sound was incredible, there were no dead spots, it was consistant where ever you were, a credit to the sound engineers.

During the 8 hour party many surprises occured including a parade of inflatable characters to the "Bongo Song" and a rainbow flag the size of a football field being carried over the entire dancefloor.

The laser lighting show had to be seen to be believed, Bruce a friend stoped and said "Oh my god Nick look at the lasers" I stopped dancing and stood with him and watched and just took it all in, it really had to be seen to be believed.

Beams were bouncing off mirror balls onto other mirror balls, cubes and dishes providing an unforgetable experience.

Tickets to the next Luna Park Toybox in March are on Sale now and will sell out soon, so if your coming to Sydney for Mardi Gras do your self a favour click HERE.

After Toybox we went home to shower and get changed then went to the next Party at Homesexual till 7am in the morning.

It was packed to the point of overcrowded, the four levels of the venue were going off. It was hot and the the boys were hot too.

We arrived home at 8am after 20 hours of partying.

That evening a group of us got together for dinner and could not stop talking about Toybox, so finally I want to go on record as saying well done to the Toybox Team your really know how to put on a dance party.
