Going Bald down South

The latest edition of New York's Next Magazine features a very interesting article on going "Brazilian".

Brian Moylan writes about his experience in waxing everything south of the equator.

"It actually hurts less than you would imagine, and the intial impact is certainly less uncomfortable than that other thing you do in that position." ,what is odd is that way it feels walking down the street. It’s like if you wear shoes and socks your whole life and one day you go without socks. It doesn’t feel bad—just different." says Brian

Brain claims that he now actually enjoys it, and while it’s still a little surprising to see himself completely bare, he now knows why everyone wants to go to Brazil!

To read the full story check out my new site"Adventures of Gay Boys"!

I am very much interested in what you think about waxing below;

Is it sexy?
Is it very sexy?
Is it very very sexy?
Is it not sexy? (for the prude people)

Let me know I would love to read your comments?
Have you ever had it done, what was it like?, was it popular?

Justin on "Fashion Rocks"

Justin Timberlake is featured on the cover of Vanity Fair's latest Fashion Rocks supplement.

He may not consider himself a fashion icon, but Justin Timberlake likes to take style credit where it's due. "It's funny, I keep hearing Ashton Kutcher say how he was responsible for trucker caps,” says Justin Timberlake.

Timberlake maintains that he and best friend Trace Ayala – with whom he launched the William Rast denim line in 2005 – "were wearing them when we were seventeen." ... I had no idea that the fashion world was so competitive in a very "mine is bigger than yours" sense!

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

Next magazine this week features some of the cast of the up coming remake of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

Lewis Carroll’s beloved Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland has inspired many a remake. Disney made it into a cutesy cartoon, Jefferson Airplane turned it into a song about drug use and Playboy transformed it into a dirty adult musical.

Of course, now that the crew at Broadway Bares, the annual burlesque and musical-revue benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, has got their hands on the material, you can bet it’ll be more like the Playboy version than the Disney one.

Wonderland takes place Sunday, June 22 at 9:30pm and midnight at Roseland
Ballroom (239 W 52nd St, 212-840-0770). Visit BroadwayCares.org for more info.

Sunbathing at ST. Pancras

A stunning team of St. Tropez models ‘flash mobbed’ delighted commuters at London’s Historic St. Pancras International station on the hottest day of the year so far. Thirty barefooted, flip-flop shod ambassadors stripped off, pulled out their towels and set up what appeared to be an international sun-baking station on the concourse.

They complimented their sensational St Tropez tans by wearing designer Speedos and footwear as they helped support Sun Awareness Week 2008 in the UK. Sun Awareness Week is the British Association of Dermatologists’ annual drive to promote sun safety.

Herndon Climb time: 2:35:59

A wiry volleyball player from Pennsylvania had the honor this morning of scaling the Herndon Monument, signaling the end of the freshman or "plebe" year for the Naval Academy Class of 2011.
This year's time of 2 hours, 35 minutes and 59 seconds was more than an hour longer than last year's time of 1 hour, 32 minutes, 42 seconds.
This year's Herndon Climb was slightly different from past years, because upperclassmen did not soak the plebes - and the ground around the monument - with a garden hose while they attempted to make the climb.
Although the monument was greased in 100 pounds of lard courtesy of 1st Company, there were no mocking messages written into the lard, as in past.
Legend has it that the plebe who scales Herndon will be the first in the class to become admiral, but this prediction has never proved true.

Prince's 25th Birthday Present

Prince William turns 25 today and will now be legally entitled to his mother's riches.

Di’s total assets including stocks, shares, jewelery, cash from her 17 million pounds divorce settlement, dresses and other personal belongings at her Kensington Palace apartment were held in a trust to be distributed among both her sons William and Harry.

As per Diana’s will, William was entitled to his share of the assets when he turned 25.

This means that from his earnings of 21,880 pounds a year as a second lieutenant in the Blues and Royals regiment, he will have unlimited access to 250,000 pounds to 300,000 pounds a year.

He has certainly grown into handsome man.

McConaughey Bachelor of the Year

Matthew McConaughey - frequently photographed shirtless and exercising on the beach - is People magazine’s ‘bachelor of the year’.

‘I love warm weather and summertime,’ the 37-year-old actor says in the magazine’s ‘Hottest Bachelors’ issue.

McConaughey, whose screen credits include ‘We Are Marshall’, ‘Failure to Launch’ and ‘Sahara’, has high standards when it comes to the ladies.

‘What I look for in a woman is what I love to call the ‘two Hs’ - hotness and humour,’ he says. ‘But to be honest, a woman with a good sense of humour is always hot.’

The magazine also names ‘sexy and sizzling’ bachelors such as Adrian Grenier, Zach Braff, Justin Timberlake, Ryan Reynolds, and Ludacris. David Spade, who starred on the ‘Just Shoot Me!’ television series, also makes the cut.

Chasing the Pink Dollar

Ad revenue at gay and lesbian publications continues to grow faster than in the mainstream press -- expanding at almost three times the mainstream rate over the last decade -- according to a new report.

Total ad spending in gay- and lesbian-oriented publications hit a record $ 223.3 million last year, up 5.2% from 2005 and better than triple the 1996 figure, according to the Gay Press Report, an annual survey produced by ad agency Prime Access Inc. and gay media representative firm Rivendell Media.

Over the past 10 years, ad revenue for all consumer magazines grew at a compound annual rate of 4% versus an 11.8% pace for gay-targeted media.

"This year's report confirms how, in just one decade, gay and lesbian consumers have gone from an overlooked niche to an audience that Fortune 500 companies are working overtime to reach," said Howard Buford, president of Prime Access, in a release accompanying the report.

"The numbers make it clear that corporate America recognizes and values both the spending power and influence of gay consumers."

More than 180 Fortune 500 brands bought into gay media last year, up from just 19 in 1994, with popular categories including travel, financial services, automotive, fashion and entertainment.

Circulation is also doing far better than the rest of the publishing industry, rising 10.4% last year, according to the study's findings.

Shameful acts by HIV+ Men

A GANG of gay men in Holland allegedly used the Internet to lure victims to orgies where they drugged and raped them.

Gang members, who are said to be HIV-positive, were also said to have injected their victims with Aids-tainted blood.

The gang members could face up to 16 years in prison in convicted.
According to the police and prosecutors, eight more victims have come forward since the case was publicised.

Officials said the three HIV-positive men contacted gays on the Internet, then invited them to private homosexual orgies where they were drugged.
The three suspects - one of whom is a male nurse - were said to have raped the men, and even injected some of them with a mix of their contaminated blood.

Girls who like Boys who like Boys

Diamonds may be forever, but it turns out that a gay boy is actually a girl's best friend, according to a new book that is the first definitive guide to the "fag hag".

Now a new book chronicles the (mostly) ups and (occasional) downs of having a gay man as a girl's best friend. Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys -- true tales of love, lust and friendship between straight women and gay men was launched in New York last week with a rainbow of hysterical real life stories and a few predictably melodramatic tear-jerkers.

Robinovitz in her chapter Shop Girls, wrote that while her female friends are competitive when shopping and "secretly want your ass to look fat", her entourage of gay men makes her feel like "Marie Antoinette and her court" as they encourage her to buy extravagantly, telling her she looks divine, while "holding my handbags more gracefully than I do".

One of the book's editors, Melissa De La Cruz, said she sought to puncture the high-camp stereotype by telling how her gay male co-editor Tom Dolby was the rock-solid shoulder who was most there for her out of all her friends when she suffered a miscarriage and she and her husband were heartbroken. "He was a real man," she said.

American support of gays up significantly

American acceptance of gay rights is at its highest level in 30 years, according to a national poll released Tuesday. A Gallup Poll shows that 59% of Americans believe that “homosexual relations between consenting adults" should be legal.
This question, which is part of the Gallup Poll’s annual Values and Beliefs survey carried out each May, has been asked every year since 1977, when only 43% responded affirmatively.
Support for same-sex marriage has also increased to an all-time high. Although supporters are still the minority, 46% believe marriages between same-sex couples should be legally validated.
The most support comes in relation to equality in the workplace, with 89% believing that gays “should have equal rights in terms of job opportunities.” (The Advocate)

Dead body found in Oxford Street Gay Club doorway

A dead body was found on Oxford Street this morning, right out the front of the Midnight Shift. The body was covered with a white blanket.

Police cordoned off part of the footpath this morning and set up a crime scene so they could forensically examine the area.

The Sydney Morning Herald quizzed local shopkeepers who said that they thought it was a drug overdose, although it’s still too early to tell the cause of death just yet.

IT'S TIME TO GO.....JOHNNY !

Yes that's right, Its time to go Johnny, you will be evicted from the Big Brother "Government" House, so no need to spend that 22 million dollars on the renovations as you wont be living there later this year.

We can only speculate how John Howard our current leader of the country will celebrate when, we the voters make him pay for some of the stupid decisions he has made in the last year. Will he leap into the air ? I think not...

John Howard today warned Coalition MP's and Senators that they face defeat at this year's election unless there is a reversal in the polls and has suggested that his leadership might be contributing to the problem.

Oh really John have you contributed to the slump in the polls!!!

In an address to the Coalition party room this morning, Mr Howard said the current polls show the Government would not just lose the election, but be annihilated.

Workplace Relations Minister Joe Hockey has conceded the Federal Government got it wrong when it introduced the Work Choices laws without proper protection for those losing benefits.

Oh yes at least they got that "RIGHT..." YOU GOT IT WRONG AND NOW IT'S TIME TO PAY THE ULTIMATE PRICE.....EVICTION!

Goodbye Johnny
Oh and on a personal level John you really should not be so anti gay, what if your son was GAY, would you not love him. It's time the Government make changes to the same sex relationship bill.

It's not Heaven in Rio for Gay Community

A recent article tittled "The boys from Ipanema - gay Brazilians between heaven and hell in Rio" opened my eyes and shattered my dreams about visiting Rio.

This year's carnival attracted around 700,000 tourists to Rio - among them many gay men and women. Along with San Francisco in the US state of California, the Brazilian city is one of the most popular tourist destinations for homosexuals - especially those from Germany.

According to the anti gay discrimination organisation 'Disque- DenĂșncia Homosexual' (DDH), a total of 45 gay men and lesbians were murdered on these streets in 2006 - more than ever before.

'No gay person here would ever dream of walking the streets holding hands or kissing', said Dan Litteauer. 'Something that would be considered normal in Europe is only possible here at carnival times,' he added.

For Robson, an anthropologist who runs city tours for gays, Rio remains a paradise for homosexuals despite its very macho society.

'There are just certain rules which you have to adhere to,' the 44-year-old Brazilian explained and added: 'Unlike in Europe or the United States we have absolutely no gay ghettos.'

The familiar rainbow flags which can been seen fluttering over numerous establishments around the world are nowhere to be seen in Rio.

After reading this article my dreams of a trip to Rio and being openly gay and proud were shattered.

I can hold my boys hand in Sydney depending on location and to think this was not possible in Rio really surprised me.

If you have visited or reside in Rio I welcome your comments on this story.
