San Diego Pride

More than 100,000 people lined University Avenue in Hillcrest last Saturday for the 34th annual San Diego Pride Parade, in which participants celebrated the newly won right to same-sex marriage in California.

Early in the parade, a contingent of 40 long-term couples marched to "roaring applause'' and displayed placards listing their marital status and length of time they've been together.

The parade was the highlight of the weekend-long LGBT Pride Festival in Balboa Park, with the theme of "Live, Love, Be.''

Frankfurt Pride

Last weekend Frankfurt held it's annual Pride march, it looks like it got a little wet during the event.  A Bat shows how to use his cape to keep one self dry.

Walking on slippery roads can be hazardous on any occasion, but when wearing plastic shoes and a just a white swimsuit very dangerous. Fortunately for this hottie a lady in fishnet stockings was walking along and offered some protection!

German Love Parade festival draws dancing crowd

More than 1.5 million revelers danced through the streets of the western German city of Dortmund on Saturday at the annual Love Parade techno music festival.

A roughly one-mile main road was closed in Dortmund to allow the crowd — brightly and scantily clad and mostly young — to dance to techno music blasted from 37 floats. Some 250 DJs were taking part in the event.

Once a summer institution in Berlin, the parade — staged under the motto "Highway of Love" — moved last year to Germany's industrial Ruhr area.

The original Berlin Love Parade grew from a 1989 peace demonstration into a huge outdoor celebration of club culture that drew about 1.5 million people at its peak in 1999.

Financial problems forced its cancellation in 2004 and 2005. The parade returned in 2006, attracting between 500,000 and 700,000 people, but organizers failed to reach an agreement with city officials — fed up with arranging security and sanitation services — forcing the event to seek another home.

Last year's Love Parade took place in Essen.

Pilgrim attacks protester en route to mass

A World Youth Day pilgrim who ran among pro-choice protesters in central Sydney yesterday was put in the back of a police van.

Police on the scene would not comment on the incident, but demonstrator Stefan Joksic, 23, said the man jumped on him and called him a "fag".

Mr Joksic, who was wearing a T-shirt with the slogan Pope Go Homo, said the pilgrim was saying "f*** you", "you're all wrong", and "go to hell".

"(He) found a break in the police line and just lunged for me. He was pulled back by the cops. He hit me on the side of the neck," he said.

Later, police said a 19-year-old Newcastle man was arrested about 2.30pm (AEST) during a confrontation between pilgrims and protesters.

He was questioned and released without charge. No formal complaint was lodged.

Dralion arrives in Sydney

Tonight Cirque du Soleil  - "Dralion" came to Sydney

Dralion is the fusion of ancient Chinese circus tradition and the avant-garde approach of Cirque du Soleil. The show's name is drawn from its two main symbols: the dragon, representing the East, and the lion, representing the West.

Dralion derives much of its inspiration from Eastern philosophy with its perpetual quest for harmony between humankind and nature.

Suspended in time between the past and the future, Dralion is a celebration of life and the four elements that maintain the natural order: air, water, fire and earth. Innovation soars to new heights as it defies the laws of nature.

Dralion is a dynamic performance that transcends the boundaries of the imagination and leads us into a dreamscape with a new and sparkling perspective.

Garrett new face of Calvin Klein

Garrett Neff has some big shoes to fill.

He’s the first model to star for the iconic Calvin Klein underwear campaign, after the twice Oscar nominated star, Djimon Hounsou lit up the billboards last year.

Back in 1992, the Herb Ritts lensed campaign (for those of you too young to remember) is what helped to launch the careers of Mark Wahlberg and Kate Moss. Bruce Weber, who shot the legendary pics with Tom Hintnaus more than 25 years ago shoots the current Garrett series.

From what we’ve seen of Garrett backstage, we think he’s going to more than hold his own with those model giants.
