Hilary Clinton Tells Gay Leaders She'll Oppose 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton told the nation's leading gay rights group in an unpublicized speech that she opposes the military’s ban on gays and lesbians instituted when her husband was in office.
According to the Associated Press, Sen. Clinton said it would be safer for the nation if openly gay soldiers, sailors, Marines, and airmen could wear the uniform.

"This policy doesn't just hurt gays and lesbians, it hurts all our troops and this to me is a matter of national security and we're going to fix it," Clinton said, reports the AP.

The Pentagon instituted the "don't ask, don't tell" policy, which says gays may serve in the military only if they keep their sexual orientation private, while her husband Bill Clinton was president. In 1999, as she prepared to run for the Senate from New York, Clinton publicly opposed that policy.

A Special Message to two amazing friends

Indulgence Party at Shift and final say..

The forth and final party that I attended over the 4 days was Indulgence which was a leather and denim party. A crowd of 800 approx partied till early Monday morning to heavy tribal dance music.

Wearing a white D & G belt with white shoes, I felt like a virgin in whore house.

The music was great, but by this stage I had only had had 1 1/2 hours sleep in the past 44 hours and my body was not in the dance spirit.

I left at 6am and have been sleeping for upto 12 hours at atime to catch up.

Well my month in Sydney ends on Thursday when I return home to Adelaide and back to work.

I hope to back by May hopefully for ever.

ToyBox at Luna Park

After the Mardi Gras Party we went to ToyBox at Luna Park. It was being promoted as the best Toy Box ever as the whole venue was ours, all the rides included but unfortunately too many tickets were sold and there were long lines to get into the main venue in scorching heat.
We had an interesting time to say the least, I learnt alot and overall had a great time, however a message to the organisers .... Please go back to the Metro and Horden Pavillion they were the best locations.

If you went, did you see the beach ball, it was mine and ended up on the lighting rig.

Mardi Gras Sydney, Australia 2007

There were giant butterflies, 250 dancing Kylie Minogues, baby-pushing Vicky Pollards and a patrol of gay surf lifesavers to help Sydney celebrate the annual Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade.

The parade featured the traditional Dykes on Bikes and colourful floats and costumes.

Approx 8,000 participants with 120 float entries entertained the 300,000 strong crowd on a lovely clear evening.

This year's theme was "Objects Of Love".

Bent Cover Boy Final in Sydney

The final for BENT's search for a Cover Boy was held a matter of hours ago in front of a packed Slide nightclub in Sydney. Courtney Act was the host strutting her stuff and performing a few classic songs.

Some boys could not wait to begin oiling up themselves.

The winner wins $1000 cash plus a heap of prizes including the cover shot of Bent Magazine

Rupert Everett to lead the Sydney Mardi Gras Parade

British actor Rupert Everett has been announced as the Chief of Parade for this year's Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade to held on Saturday. He will lead a parade of 120 floats as it makes its way from Hyde Park in the city through Darlinghurst with an expected 300,000 spectators.

The honorary title is given each year to a high-profile member of the gay community. Everett, who came out in the late 1980s, is known for his roles in My Best Friend's Wedding, Shakespeare in Love, The Next Best Thing and The Importance of Being Earnest.

He’s now promoting his recently released a kiss-and-tell book Red Carpets and Other Banana Skins.

Koala gay sex in captivity

Female koalas observed to have lesbian sex in captivityResearchers at University of Queensland, Australia have reported that they found female koalas indulging in 'lesbian sex sessions' immediately after rejecting male suitors and attempting to mate with each other, sometimes up to five at a time.

Although the marsupials appear to develop the tendency for same-sex liaisons when they are in captivity, researchers say they would remain heterosexual in the wild. Based on their study of 130 koalas in captivity, the researchers counted three homosexual interactions for every heterosexual one.

"On several occasions more than one pair of females shared the same pole, and multiple females mounted each other simultaneously. At least one multiple encounter involved five female koalas. One theory put forward by the researchers is that the females do it to attract males; another is that it is simply hormonal, or that it is a stress reliever.

"Our aim was to determine the extent of differences in the homosexual and heterosexual behaviour of female koalas and thereby to determine the purpose of female homosexual behaviour in the koala," say the researchers. "Wild koalas brought into captivity clearly display homosexual behaviour on a regular basis.

A total of 15 heterosexual and 43 homosexual interactions were recorded in separate animals. Homosexual behaviour was restricted to females only. Heterosexual encounters were typically twice as long as homosexual encounters," they add.The results will be published in the journal Applied Animal Behaviour Science.
