In a protest against the Catholic Church's stance on homosexuality and contraception, a group of protestors will hand out condoms to the World Youth Day pilgrims that descend on Sydney in July.
A rally will be held in Taylor Square - near the gay heart of Sydney - on July 19 to condemn the church's views on gays and their rights, as well as abortion and contraception.
The group of religious, atheist and GBLT groups will then march along with the pilgrims marching to the papal mass at Randwick Racecourse, handing out condoms on the way.
Many see the last two popes' outspoken condemnation of contraception as being one of the major factors in the spread of AIDS, particularly in the developing world.
